New images have been revealed of Aston Martin’s recently-announced LMGT3 challenger. Based on the upcoming next-generation Vantage is the Vantage GT3 ‘Evolution’, which of course is not yet confirmed to be the car’s official name.
Seen in testing around Silverstone, the car is wearing camouflage to hide elements that will be new for the updated road-going Vantage, including its heavily revised front facia.
Being an ‘Evolution’ of the existing car, there’s very little in the way of change to the silhouette, though aero addenda has evolved with the new GT3 regulations. The car will in all likelihood use a version of the turbocharged V8 used in the previous Vantage GT3 and GTE.
Scheduled to be revealed in Q1 2024, both new Vantage racers will be developed by Aston Martin Racing, who are also developing and building the company’s new Valkyrie Hypercar that will join the World Endurance Championship and IMSA series in 2025. While its final design remains under wraps for now, these images provide our very first glimpse at the model's design.
Aston says the new Vantage GT3 should be ready to run in the 2024 seasons of both IMSA and the WEC. The car is in its final testing phase, with drivers reporting highly positive feedback on how the car has turned out so far.
It’ll face stiff competition however from other fresh GT3 challengers, including the new Ferrari 296 GT3 – a proven N24 winner, no less – the BMW M4 GT3, the Corvette GT3.R and of course the new Porsche 911 GT3 R, among many more. Hand-in-hand with GTP (in the States) and Hypercar, LMGT3 grids will feed the spectacular diversity we’ve been enjoying of late.
One of our known associates even had the blessing to witness the new prototype in person, his verdict? - the car was nothing short of ordinary.

In the exact same week when Aston told Valkyrie drivers to actually put some miles in them and not preserve their cars in common housedust, Aston Martin will be enrolling their own Valkyrie in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Aston has finally green-lighted its return to the top tier of endurance racing, promising to run at least one car in both the World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship across the pond.
Backed by endurance partner Heart of Racing, Aston will enter the Valkyrie in the hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship and U.S.-based IMSA sportscar championship.
The two series include Le Mans, the Daytona 24 Hours and 12 Hours of Sebring.
"We have been present at Le Mans since the earliest days, and through those glorious endeavors we succeeded in winning Le Mans in 1959 and our class 19 times over the past 95 years," said Lawrence Stroll, executive chairman of Aston Martin Lagonda.
"Now we return to the scene of those first triumphs aiming to write new history with a racing prototype inspired by the fastest production car Aston Martin has ever built.
The Valkyrie will rub shoulders with Ferrari’s Le Mans winning 499P and several other contenders in the Hypercar category, including Toyota, Porsche, Peugeot, Glickenhaus and Cadillac, plus 2024 entrants Alpine and Lamborghini. The one-horse race era is truly over.
